The I-Search
7th Grade
Science Research Project

Everyday, no matter where we are or what we are doing, we are confronted with situations we don't understand.  Our minds fill with questions.  For example, if its raining we might wonder, "Why are raindrops always round?"  If we've just seen the movie "Deep Impact" or "Armegeadon" we might ask, "Could mankind really stop a comet or asteroid from destroying the earth?"

Now you have the opportunity to find the answer to at least one of your science related questions and increase your knowledge and skill in other areas as well.

As you work on this project you will learn to:

1.  Search electronic and conventional resources and gather information on the topic question

2.  Properly cite all quotations

3.  Organize the information gathered into a clear explanation of the answer to your question

4.  Work with others to create connections between your specific question and theirs

5.  Construct a simple Web page using original text enhanced with graphics and illustrations
