I have such a stubborn and picky daugher. Today she decided she wanted her dessert
(formula) first. It was one of those middle-of-the-night feedings, and she refused to take
the bottle of breastmilk. "I think she wants formula," Joe said. We brought out
the bottle of formula, and sure enough, she started drinking steadily. So, after she'd had
about an ounce, we switched bottles on her, and she didn't know the difference. Throughout
the day, I've had to do this several times, and it is so frustrating. I keep trying to
convince her that my milk is better for her than that nasty old formula, but she doesn't
seem to listen.
Then out the blue tonight, Rebekah indicated to me that she wanted to
nurse - we were lying in bed, and she reached out for my bra and turned toward me with her
mouth opening and closing in the "rooting" signal. So, I rolled over on my side
and nursed her 10 minutes until she fell asleep. Two hours later, we went through the same
routine, and again she nursed until she fell asleep.
