Today we fed Rebekah only breastmilk - no formula! She took in 13 oz and we had to
changer her diaper an awful lot! Joe had to go out and buy more bottles to hold all the
milk I'm expressing...we've survived on 2 up until now, but I'm beginning to fill them to
capacity as my milk supply increases. In addition to taking the expressed milk, Rebekah
nursed for 50 minutes tonight. She certainly has a mind of her own and indicates to me
when she wants to nurse. I can't decide whether I like nursing her now or not. At this
point I feel confined and limited by breastfeeding...the bottle is seeming so much easier,
though 2 weeks ago I did not think it could possibly be.
This evening I ventured to
basement for the first time since Rebekah was born. I was able to use my desktop computer
for the first time and took the opportunity to catch up on email.
The big news of the day is the birth of my friend Becky's baby. Joshua Aven Rowley was born at 12:44 PM today. Becky and
I spent the first 6 months of our pregnancies together in Pennsylvania before Joe and I
moved to Georgia in June and they moved to California in July. They, too, seem to be doing
great.
