| This week Rebekah has done a great job of sleeping for 10 hours each night! I am
forever amazed at this, especially when I hear from other parents with babies Rebekah's
age who are lucky to get them to sleep for 6 hours in a shot. I would blame it on
the recent switch to formula, except that Rebekah was a good sleeper even before she
started her diet of formula. During the day, it has been getting harder and harder to get Rebekah to sleep very much. This week she has gotten into the habit of taking little catnaps of 15-45 minutes, never longer than an hour. As a result, she has become very fussy at night when we are getting her ready for bed. I feel so bad for her because I know she is terribly tired and hungry. She must feel so miserable (her cries certainly drive Joe and I into misery sometimes). During these fussy times we try everything we can think of to console her, but works best is when I take her downstairs and rock her. Once I get her calmed down, she's usually ready to eat a little bit, and then she drifts off to sleep for the night. |
