We started out the week with a visit to the chiropractor for Rebekah and me.   I've been going for about a week because of some back pain, and the doctor suggested taking a look at Rebekah as well.  Often, she said, the trauma of birth can cause tightness and tension around the baby's spine.  This is especially the case when there's been a long labor like mine.  Besides that, she really wanted to see the baby!  So, for my first trip out alone with Rebekah, we went to see Dr. Allison.
We were the center of attention in the waiting room.  Everyone there was fascinated with this 4-week-old baby!  After awhile, Rebekah started to fuss a little bit.  But then it was our turn.  Since Rebekah was fussy, Dr. Allison did the adjustment on her first.  She said there was a little bit of tension in the thorasic region of her back, but it practically melted away.  She said that tension could be part of the region why Rebekah enjoys being burped so much!  The patting on her back feels so good.
Since Rebekah seemed hungry, I fed her during her adjustment.  Afterwards she fell right to sleep in her carseat when Dr. Allison left me alone with her and took care of another patient.  She slept through my entire adjustment and most of the ride home.  I had been so worried that Rebekah would be fussy in the car and I wouldn't be able to do anything about it because I was driving, but this time out that wasn't a problem.
