Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving, we flew to California to visit Joe's sister, Holli and her family.   We left home early that Thursday morning, and flew across the country to arrive at Holli's house by noon CA time.  The big surprise was that Joe's oldest brother, Jon, was also there with his wife and baby daughter, Aurora, who was born 1 week after Rebekah.   What a surprise and a blessing.  I finally got to meet the last of the "Pearson kids" along with nearly all of the nieces and nephews I hadn't met yet.   We also met Joe's paternal grandparents as well as an aunt and uncle, who were also spending Thanksgiving at Holli's.  I had a brief reunion with another of Joe's brothers (Josh) and met his wife (Jana) for the first time.

The following day we drove down to San Diego to visit Joe's maternal grandfather.  We spent the whole day down there and were even able to meet the woman who is caring for Grandpa much of the time.

Saturday found us in Ventura, visiting our former neighbors from Pennsylvania.   Bill & Becky, and their 2 sons, Robby & Josh, the younger of which was born about 2 weeks after Rebekah.  It was so cute watching the 2 babies laying on the floor next to each other.  Whenever Josh would put his thumb in his mouth, Rebekah would reach over and touch his arm, as if she wanted him to take it back out!

We had a great visit and sped back to LA, where we caught a red-eye flight back to Atlanta.  Rebekah was the only one who seemed to sleep nearly the whole way.  We arrived back tired, but grateful for a good weekend.
